Pastor

Pastor Robert Johnson was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. He entered the United States Army in 1989. There he attended Airborne School and received "Jump Wings" which was the drive for joining Military training. While serving our Country, Pastor Johnson gave his life to Christ in 1991 during an Overseas tour in Germany. After successfully completing his time in service, and many awards later for his outstanding service to our Country & leadership ability (to include a Desert Storm deployment to Saudi Arabia) as a Corporal in the United States Army, he received an honorable discharge.

In 2003, Pastor Johnson became very active in the work of the Ministry and discovered a new found joy of serving as a Greeter. It was during that time he felt the need to serve the Lord and others in a greater capacity.    

Desiring to learn more of the Word, Pastor Johnson entered Ministry Training Institute in 2006. He successfully completed the training and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies.

In 2008, the Lord placed in the heart of Pastor Johnson the name; “Word of Truth Christian Center” uncertain as to why, he wrote the vision down and filed it away.

In 2009, The Lord lead Pastor Johnson to start a bible study in his home. With a burning in his soul to spread the Truth, Love, & Power of the Gospel, he fully accepted his call to ministry and to shepherd those the Lord had sent him to lead. He was then able to run with the vision that had been quietly hidden within. 

Pastor Johnson having a zeal to grow in the grace, knowledge, and wisdom of God's Word, completed his Masters Degree in Theology in 2017 which caused an abundance of delieverance in the lives of members and visitors, and all who attended during this season of ministry. Pastor Johnson did not stop there, being a student of the word of God himself, with a heart to enlighten the people of God, through the grace of God, successfully earned a Doctorate degree in Christian Education in October 2024.

Word of Truth Church is a flourishing ministry endeavoring to make disciples through discipleship training, prayer and outreach programs.

The ministry is designed to equip & empower individuals to walk in love, encouragement and healing through the Word of God. We consider ourselves to be a teaching ministry where the word is delivered with simplicity.

Pastor Johnson is married to Leading Lady Kendra Johnson, an Attorney. Together they have (5) children Markia, Tiffany, Anaya, Aiyanna & Robert.
